According to studies, psychological factors, including stress, anxiety, and depression, may contribute to the development and persistence of chronic back pain in a significant portion of patients.

A review of studies published in the journal Pain suggests that psychological factors, including stress, may be present in up to 75% of patients with chronic low back pain.1 Other studies show a similar range, from 25% to 80%. A study in the Journal of Occupational Health Psychology found that those who reported high levels of stress at work were more likely to develop chronic back pain.2

In addition to addressing psychological factors such as stress through interventions such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, improving posture can also play a significant role in reducing stress and managing chronic back pain. Poor posture can put additional strain on the back and neck, which can exacerbate pain and discomfort. Maintaining good posture can help to reduce muscle tension and promote proper alignment of the spine, which can reduce stress on the muscles and joints.

A study by the journal Clinical Rheumatology found that with regular exercise, as well as maintaining good posture, the risk of back pain decreases by about 35%.3 This is because regular exercise and good posture helps to strengthen the muscles that support the spine, which can help to prevent and reduce back pain.

Since most of us spend the majority of our days sitting for work, paying attention to the seated posture is crucial to improving overall posture. We need to remember that our bodies adapt to the position we are in most of the time. So, if we are hunched over our keyboards in a slouched posture, we can assume that our standing posture will also deteriorate.

This is where Anthros comes in. Anthros is the only office chair designed with the human body in mind and a deep understanding of what it takes to support the body in good posture.

What makes Anthros different?

1 Independently adjustable two-part back system

This unique feature is what allows the Anthros chair to support any body type. The low back pelvis support can be adjusted to meet the pelvis in neutral, resulting in the spine assuming a natural upright “S” curve. The upper back can then be adjusted to meet the spine in that position, promoting an effortless sit in an ideal posture. It melts the stress away!

2 Pressure relieving cushion

When seated in an upright, ideal posture, the sit bones are driving directly down into the seat surface. This is why Anthros has created a patent pending premium foam cushion with Cloudfloat technology to distribute pressure away from the sit bones. It feels like sitting on a cloud, leaving your stress in the horizon!

3 Tilt

When we want to relax during the workday, we don’t want to compromise our posture. This is why Anthros offers the tilt option where the back and seat move back together, maintaining a the neutral posture in this position.

If you are looking to improve posture while sitting, look no further than Anthros.

Anthros is the only chair in the world that is guaranteed to improve posture or your money back. The science-backed, patented design, is registered with the FDA as a posture-improving chair and is proven to have the lowest pressure (most comfortable) cushion on the planet (verified by university testing).

Take the next step to reducing pain, increasing comfort, and maximizing performance!
